Root Rebound Reflection

Yvette Hamaya and Stacie Reeve are yoga instructors in Southern California. They are hosting a yoga retreat in near San Luis Obispo in September. I developed this WordPress website to provide information about the Retreat, and the surrounding area, and booking for the retreat. Using WooCommerce allows attendees to register and pay a deposit to hold their place at the Retreat. They will be invoiced for the balance before the event. Easy breezy!

You may enjoy creating a WordPress website on your own, but you don’t have the background to customize the theme to suit your exact desires. We can help with customizing your WordPress website!

Caoch Lisa Walker WOrdPress website updates by Patricia Gill - saidthespider.netLisa Walker, a Business Coach in Orange County, California, did a great job creating a website using a WordPress theme she liked…except for the colors. She wanted the blue areas to be brown, and the brown areas to be blue, only a little more blue. I added some custom CSS code, and like magic, the colors were reversed, and the blue – bluer.

Sometimes WordPress theme interfaces are a bit difficult to fathom, so I provided Lisa with a step-by-step tutorial on how to update the text in certain areas of the site.

Harry’s Moving | Local Business

Harry’s Moving moves to WordPress

Harry's Moving local business website developed in WordPress by Patricia Gill saidthespider.netThe need to keep up with changes in the way users access the Internet (mobile devices and tablets), requiring responsive website design, moved Jerry Cohen of Harry’s Moving in Torrance, California to choose the WordPress platform for his moving company’s website Jerry needs to keep his Los Angeles area local moving service easy to find, Google’s decision to show only mobile-friendly sites on mobile search results was the main impetus for the change.

The existing HTML website was a few years old and needed  a little updating so the timing was perfect. Mantra, WordPress theme from Cryout Creations eased the transition and allowed us to keep the clean design and straightforward navigation of the current site.

Although WordPress began life as a blogging platform, it is now widely used for websites that do not feature a blog. As of January 2015 WordPress was used for more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites. The choice of a theme provides the basic structure and functionality of the site. The addition of “plug-ins” add to appearance and functionality, including security and automatic backups for the site.

RBH Insulation | Local Business

Information Leading to Sales

RBH Insulation’s website is now fully responsive! Why is this important? Because when a potential customer is using a mobile device to search for “home insulation” or “RBH Insulation” Google search will not show an unresponsive website in the search results.

We used WordPress to develop the new responsive site, keeping closely with the existing appearance. WordPress was a great choice because the developers will handle software updates to keep current with changes in web technology. That doesn’t mean the site doesn’t need regular monitoring and maintenance, but it can mean that down the road major coding updates may not be necessary at the website level.

The appealing colors and clean design haven’t changed much in 5 years. Most of the changes are under the hood.
